Telecommunications technician

Televo is a Zero Harm Telecommunications Company.


We have a Zero Harm policy with respect to safety and the environment. We work closely with our Delivery Partners to effectively roll out the NBN infrastructure.


We are currently looking for field employees to expand our business in Victoria


Your Duties and Responsibilities could include:



  • Civils Construction:

  • Pit Removal and Installation

  • Excavation

  • Concreting

  • Trenching

  • Pipe Laying

  • Asbestos Removal

  • Heavy Lifting

  • Labouring

  • Joining cables and sealing sheaths with lead and thermoplastic

  • Installing cabling for telephone and computer transmission

  • Adjusting, replacing and repairing faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments

  • Installing, testing and maintaining underground wires and cables and mobile phone antennae

  • Examining drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed

  • Locating faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and transmission measuring equipment

  • Comfortable working in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations

  • Experience and competent use of battery powered power tools

  • Installing telecommunications equipment and appliances such as telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment

  • Cutting and splicing glass fibers to expand telecommunications networks into new areas or to replace existing copper cable lines.

  • Troubleshooting and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems.

  • Testing cables to ensure they are proven and within the required parameters

  • Installation processes include trenching new lines and laying conduit and using existing conduits to install fibre cables.

  • Fibre Inspection and Cleaning, Testing and Commissioning Live fibre

  • ICTCMP2239B Perform restricted customer premises broadband cabling work: ACMA Restricted Rule

  • ICTCBL3009B Install, terminate and certify structured cabling installation

  • ICTCBL301OB Install and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises

  • RIICCM202D Identity, locate and protect underground services

  • ICTCBL2136B Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Restricted Rule

  • ICTCBL2137B Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Open Rule

  • ICTCMP2239B Perform restricted customer premises broadband cabling work: ACMA Restricted Rule

  • ICTCBL3009B Install, terminate and certify structured cabling installation

  • ICTCBL301OB Install and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises

  • HLTAID001 Current CPR certification

  • HLTAID003 Current First Aid certification

  • RIIWHS302D Traffic Management Plans

  • Remove non friable Asbestos

  • Asbestos supervisor

  • Experience supervising staff

  • Construction White Card

  • Current Australian Driver License

  • Open Cablers License

  • Knowledge of bend radiuses and overall cable safe handling

  • Be physically fit

  • Working at heights

  • Right to work in Australia (supply birth certificate/passport)•National Police Check

  • NBN Enable Accreditation

  • Ability to travel for work

  • Have at least 3 years’ experience working in the field
